Kate Oneil
From a young age my desire to gain knowledge through travel experiences and physical activities fostered an understanding of embracing challenges, the value of time well spent, and the rewards of giving and receiving support.
I started oil painting in 2002 and discovered that my strengths are tied to exploring varieties of composition and color in my works. I find inspiration by observing and working with fashion, science, nature (plants, ocean life, animal skulls, etc.), urban and industrial venues, and repetition. Some of my favorite subject matter includes people, lifestyles, animals, and architecture. My eclectic interests include traveling, biking, cross-fit training, scavenging, painting, reading, fine cuisine, hunting, scuba diving and being involved in my community. These have shaped my life, as well as my art.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education I taught art at the Rome International School in Italy. I introduced different cultural influences to my students, to further their artistic development as creators and decision makers. Thus my interest in the Right Brain Initiative, and the belief that art enhances learning and education.
