How did I end up in the mortgage business?
Interestingly enough, by Aaron Nawrocki asking if I wanted to come work for him: we are related by marriage and had spent some time together at a couple of family holiday gatherings. We hit it off right away and the rest is history; I have been working with Aaron for almost a decade now and would not rather be doing anything different. I love being a part of helping folks achieve the dream of one of the major financial investments they will make in their lives–home ownership.

What’s the best part of your job?
Being fortunate enough to work with such awesome people from our clients, to real estate agents, to co-workers here at Cap M. We are a small boutique business – we take our jobs really seriously but also love to have fun while in the high pressure environment of making sure to keep timelines on track for our clients. Getting a mortgage to buy a home can be complex, nuanced and confusing – helping to empower our clients to feel informed and out there making good decisions, is by far the most rewarding part of my job.

How’d you end up in Portland?
I moved here after school to get back to being closer to family. I love Portland as there is so much to offer here – we are an hour away from a beautiful mountain and river, and less than two hours away from one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world. Not to mention, we have one the best food scenes on the west coast and there is always something new and fun to do in the city. I was born in the Northwest, love it here and will likely live here for the rest of my life.

What’s your favorite day look like?
It would be waking up with a good cup of coffee and making my kids their favorite breakfast; then going on a hike up at Mt. Hood with the family, maybe stopping at a brewery on the way home to grab a pint and a burger, and finishing up with a card game with the kids before reading them some books as we tuck them into bed.

What would you do if you weren’t in the mortgage business?
Either something in financial planning, or chasing a life-long dream of professional golf. I really love what I am doing so it’s hard to imagine doing anything else!
